November 11th More Prado and Tapas

Today was a sunny day so Deb did wash and we had a quiet morning.  But in the afternoon things picked up, we finished the laundry and headed for the Prado.   We saw three temporary exhibits and each one was quite fascinating in its own way.  The first was for a Spanish artist named Martin Rico who lived through the mid-19th Century into the early 20th Century.  He was noted for his landscapes of Spain, France, and Venice; beautiful stuff.  The second was an exhibit of 3 Titian paintings, all San Juan Bautista (John the Baptist) and it explored how the earliest served as a model for the next two and how the 3rd was discovered in the possession of a Spanish family but unknown as a Titian.  The third exhibit dealt with paintings that were completed on the backside of several famous altar painting, triptychs, dyptychs, etc. which are not shown as part of the regular exhibits because they are always open.   Anyway they were very interesting exhibits and quite enlightening.   Afterwards we stopped at A Conchina for a cana.  Anyway 4 beers and a couple wines later dinner was taken care of all for a little over 10 euros.

Here is our happy crew from A Conciña
