November 7th Plans and more plans

Yesterday we started to look at our plans for seeing other cities in Spain.  We had decided that we wanted to see Granada, Seville, Barcelona, and if possible a city up in the northwest like Santiago, Vigo, or Bilbao.  In the course of checking on train prices I found an offer for a special train pass called, Spain Train Pass.  It’s only available to non-Spanish citizens and can be bought at train stations, it offers from 4 to 12 legs for a set price.  After checking on the prices on a roundtrip to Barcelona it was apparent that the pass would be a great deal.   So we went to Atocha station and bought passes, it requires you to show your passport but after showing that and paying you’re on the road.  So we got our and made reservations for Barcelona around the 15th and Granada-Seville for the 26th of November.  Since the Barcelona trip would have cost 190 Euro and the pass was 234 it’s easy to see the advantage of the pass.  The Madrid-Granada-Seville trip was around 170 euro it will cost 43 euro and our trip to the northwest will be essentially free.   Right now we’re looking at going to Bilbao to see the Guggenheim museum designed by Frank Geary.  Everything we plan has to take into account the possible strikes , national holidays, and Christmas season, plus we’re now considering that we have to leave on the 29th of December.
